..why.

My mind works overtime sometimes, but there's no stopping it. I'll mull and groan and shed a few tears over certain issues, but with time all wounds heal and I'll be fine and dandy again. Well that's just how life works right? We receive the ordeal, get through it, and try to get back into our comfortable little lives again.

So what's in for Year 2007 for me?

Well, I'd say 2007 does look to be very interesting indeed. It'll kick off with being thrown back into school and the bottomless pit of work, then off to the mainstream school to teach, then work at mum's office, and enjoy the rest of my holidays, before being thrown back into school again, then its off to India for my final year project.. Oh yes not forgetting a trip to Krabi in July. : )

As you can already tell, school does not exactly seem very friendly because I use the word thrown. Like i'm being tossed back into choppy waters then fight to stay afloat. That's generally how I feel with each passing semester. Then you'll see my frequent rants back on this blog. Hurhur but that's just my form of release. When I was first told about an impending trip to India I was filled with much dread and worry. Because me being the rather safe traveller, thought i was going to spend my last few days on earth in India itself. But lo and behold, thank god for great lecturers and my lovely tanya bobo who have convinced me that India does have its beauty too. And to top it off, I may be meeting Tanya in India itself to explore!! I'm soo excited about that.

Planning for holidays always get me riled up. Cos I'd constantly think up the fun/great times ahead and it gives me drive to push forward. Pity I have to give up on Melbourne. If India wasn't in the picture, I'd have gone without a doubt. But now I only chide myself for not saving up in the past to afford what I want to do. Dang.

Anyhoo, I hope and wish that 2007 will be a smashing year for all. Whatever happened in 2006, remember the good times, learn from the bad and forget about it already. We have a whole new year ahead waiting to be experienced and embraced!

Well, I'd gladly share my one and only resolution for the new year. And that is to embrace what is given to me, and make the best out of it as a happy girl.

Off to KL/Genting to celebrate the New Year's,

So here's wishing everyone a wonderful and happy new year indeed. : )

Cheers!

The Christmas weekend....

Started off with dinner at anne.annes! We gathered at anne's house with our dishes in hand and whipped up a wonderful potluck dinner.

With lotsa good food on the table, we tucked in and had a wonderful time together : ). Not forgetting the present exchange!! My secret santa turned out to be my les-sy aka Cher, and she gave me an eyeshadow colour from Anna Sui. Nice! Towards the end of the night we sorta gathered in anne's room while she got ready for a night out and went crazy over her polly pocket. Do you remember those small itty-bitty dolls you used to play when you were young? Well anne had a CASTLE. And it was sooo pretty. There were sooo many parts you could transform and explore... I think we oooohed and aaaahed over her lovely polly pocket castle, with the dolls and acquaintances all intact of course, for a good whole half an hour.

Pictures!

First shot of the day with the early birds : )

My les-sy!

Food glorious food!!
Lowdown on menu: Mashed potatoes with hardboiled egg, stuffed turkey, fresh garden salad, honeybaked ham, fruits, baileys tiramisu and vodka with assorted drinks.

I take anne... so she takes me!

Everyone in the pic now!!

Our gracious host

THE Polly Pocket castle we went crazy over : ))

Then on christmas eve my family had a small gathering where almost the same menu was dished out. Haha but it was still good nonetheless... this time the alchohol also went up a notch and bottles of wine popped together with some baileys mini.. Stups me didn't know I had to shake the bottle first though, and ended up with a rather burning sensation in my throat towards the middle of the bottle. Yikes.

Mum and I decorated the house a little with some mini hanging gold stuff which kept dropping. But it did add to the chrismassy atmosphere!!

The tree we put up, was really beautiful too : ) With a spunky santa hat just for laughs on the top!

Uncle Pollard :)

In the midst of dinner

The night ended with the opening of our gifts... mum and dad got their crocs, sis got her maryjane crocs, and i got a pair of birks which I readily wore the very next day to go watch deathnote 2. : )

Well, so mum and dad left for KL on christmas day itself and the three of us home alone-ers had a survivor marathon coupled with the leftovers from the party as dinner. Yuuummmmm. I've still gotta rave about survivor. Because... Yul is SO HOT. Not forgetting Ozzy boy, who was darn cute..till the reunion. Hmmm. Anyway, be sure to catch every episode cos this season, absolutely rocks. ; )

Cher and I ventured to the other part of the island and sneaky cher brought me to a sneaky place and we came out with many sneaky things. HURHURHUR... Yay to that sneaky place... with all the sala stuff. BUT, the good stuff lies behind!

Happy Boxing day peeps!

The 22nd of December marked a very exciting day indeed.

I had Sean over in the morning for tuition before Jason came over to set off to town together.. We had a day planned of shopping followed by dinner at Black Angus, located at One Fullerton to commemorate our first year anniversary.

So I got myself dolled up after tuition and went about shutting down my lappie when i got an msn msg saying that the results had been released. RIGHT. There rooted firmly to my seat, I shouted to Jason regarding the news and began logging into the portal. To my dismay (and many others I'm sure), the portal was down for some reason. After multiple tries, I finally got in and then it was Jason's turn.

Well the result anxiety died down and we headed out with dad for lunch. Got Dad his crocs, then headed to town where I searched to no avail for my 2007 schedule book. Sigh every year I kinda face the same problem because I am very super picky about my schedule book and it is of utmost importance to me because yours truly here has a very goldfish memory. Anyway I'm still in search of one so if you know of any place that has nice schedule planner books, drop me an sms please! I've tried kinokuniya, isetan and prints.

By the time I got to Black Angus my legs felt sore. So much for the endless walking. Nonetheless, the heavenly steak made up for all the walking. A highly recommended place if you're looking for some steak grilled to perfection : ). The night ended with some chilling out at Starbucks before heading home for survivor (though I've watched it before! Still thrills me to see the Aitu 4).

I was dead tired that night as I plonked into bed. Just an hour before I headed to bed I was distressed over an extra half turkey. It was a nightmare. But it's all settled now, thankfully! Incidentally also within an hour before heading to bed I stared long and hard at my results and reflected on the semester.

Well a day that was meant to be spent in the sole company of my boy ended up being an entire mix of emotions and anxiety but I had a great day nonetheless. And I felt sooo proud of my scrapbook that I made to remember the fantastic past year that we've gone through together. : )

Happy 1st, my love!

Some pictures to share : )

I don't usually follow the survivor series, but I got all super hyped up watching 3 epis or survivor in a row last night... IT IS SOOO EXCITING!!!

Ozzy (Orlando Bloom look-alike)is damn hot. And so is Yul. Wooooooooot! and I love love love the Aitu tribe with 4 true ones left standing. They play the game so so well.

Then.... I went and surfed the trent website and happily read about his daily gossip when it came to a Survivor spoiler. But since at the page already just read right.... HE ANNOUNCED THE WINNER.

-_-""""""

There goes all the suspense of the series. Bummer bummer bummer.

But still, the best season of survivor ever, with a good mix of hot babes and SERIOUSLY HOT guys. : ))

Sigh it's pouring again. The rain has been going on for more than 36 hours non-stop already. I wonder if some places will get flooded. Is this the longest rainfall period Singapore has ever experienced? Cos it's crazzy! It's cold and utterly wet and my clothes cannot dry for nuts.

I feel a little cooped up too because the windows have to be shut tight, therefore it feels like i'm in a little enclosure.. Hmmm.

Anyway! this weekend marks the christmas weekend!! My turkeys should be arriving anytime soon!!! : ))

Recap of the week before I go into slumberland.. which I really am tempted to just slide right under the blanket but my hair ain't dry yet.

Tuesday:
Sharity camp!!! Was really looking forward to meeting wonderful and super cute kids like my favourite girl waynie but was greeted instead with boys who told me that my 'superman' game was "SO LAME". DAMMIT. They wanted to be home with their lovely computers... I had a boy who ate heaps and wanted more.. hmmm well I left the camp thinking that kids of the new generation are just spoilt rotten. I also left with the resolution that my own kids will never see a gameboy or PS2 till they're in secondary school. hurhurhur..

Wednesday:
Supposed to head back for day 2 of sharity but seeing that there were more than enough hands to help, I kindly declined to come for the 2nd day. I was peacefully resting at home when a crucial msg came in. Mango sales open to the public today. In record time of half an hour, I packed my stayover stuff, organised my appearance and hurried down to centrepoint. So a bf working there comes in super handy... thre my bags at his counter and went into the sale. Wooohooo.. after which I made my way to Jan's place with Cher and together we dolled up for a zouk/phuture night. I felt rather miserable by the end of the long night and wished that all horny men were jailed.

Thursday:
Woke up and found Jan sprawled on the sofa in a super unglam pose so I took a pic. Hahaha.. had some food then plonked right back into her bed for a spot of bitching and blog surfing before heading for some fab jalan kayu prata... then I met Jason at his workplace and we did some shopping. I think he's gone all cranky working there cos he's on a spending spree!!! Fwaaahh I think some meteroid hit his head or something cos he usually won't even buy a t-shirt even if it cost 10 bucks or something. So his buys have been rather phenomenal. Came back for yoga class at night with legs that felt like lead from a night of boogie-ing and quite a bit of shopping... and guess what. MY CLASS IS CONDUCTED IN MANDARIN. I think I nearly flipped and got totally confused. How was I to know that in the word "hu xi", hu stands for breathing out and xi stands for breathing in. It's like the opposite and I got all my directions wrong too. : ( Hope the next lesson will be more bearable since I've got the directions all sorted out.

Friday:
Errands day. From the moment I woke up I was buzzing like a bee. Tuition followed by a trip to Jurong Point to send out a letter, buy some food and ingredients for dinner... then i made pasta for dinner and brought some to jason for dinner before walking down to Lido to watch Eragon!! Not bad a show I guess, and it's all thanks to jan that we got to watch it for free. Yay! And the entertainment from jan and her bros was unforgettable. I laughed so hard my sides hurt. En route I stopped by Art Friend to pic up some stuff too. I'm so excited abt the thing I'm gonna be making!!! : )) Oh yea and all of a sudden i decided that i wanted to fill up my photo album so i filled up my thumbdrive with the pics and went to the shop to develop and to my utter horror, I had selected 222 photos to develop. *faints* The bill came up to be 67 bucks. Sigh I feel giddy again now.

Saturday:
Lunch with family at this new hk place in IMM.. the food was great: ) Then it was a mad mad mad mad rush to report for work in the evening. Because I was super late due to some reasons, and I reached at a record time to change and get ready everything in 5 mins. I was running like an insane lady, and started throwing my things in and out of the locker. Wham bham I made it just in time. I guess I would have been really upset if I missed this show cos its my all time fav - Corrine May. And not disappointing me at all, she was utterly amazing as she belted out all pieces from her new christmas album. I thank god for my wonderful partner who was kind enough to let me switch places with him for half the show so that I could enjoy her live. Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee : ))

Well that's about it for now.. I'm dead beat already and struggling to keep my eyes open. The weather has been seriously wonky. It's scorching hot, then it rains then it gets all humid and gross at night. The weather makes me wonky too because I wake up feeling like I'm suffering from a series of hot flushes, and on the other hand I'd be mighty irritated at the noise from the construction site downstairs. What a real BUMMER.

Ok now i'm really quite gone. Pics up when I have time to do so..

For the time being, have a fantastic 8 days more to christmas!!!

Boring saturday.. I lazed around at home with mum then she went out for mahjong. So after a few epis of tvb I decided to go have dinner with jason. Thus the pic! Met sis and mic there as they were ard the area. And they bought me a pair of birks for christmas. : ) It's a shoe-shoe christmas. I'm buying shoes for my family members as presents too! Thank God for the extra moo-lah in the form of a bonus! Hurhurhur.

Sharity Camp coming up for the next two days... Followed by a night out with my two very favourite girls! The week seems super perked up. : ) : ) : )

My IRAS form came in the mail today. *phew*

Happy Sunday to all!

After the tuition session tonight I went to take a shower. Then the doorbell rang.

For that split second, these thoughts ran through my head:

1) Aps came back and had forgotten to bring her keys out
2) My tuition kid left something at my house and came back to get it
3) *gasp* my boy decided to pay a surprise visit after work!!!!!

So while bathing I fiddled with all 3 thoughts and decided that 1 and 2 weren't very possible. Thus I strained my ear to listen if the tv was switched on cos that's what Jason would probably have done if he came. Nil. Hmmmmmm ok maybe he decided to use the internet instead. I hurried myself out of the bathroom and scanned the possible places for where he could be.

Strange. He wasn't in any of those possible places!

I then glanced into the mahjong room and realised. OH. Mum had a mahjong spectator over.

Right. I felt so silly then, for having all my silly thoughts and building up empty anticipation.

*smacks head*

Survivor time!

Something new: Hair Follicle Infection

I'd never had expected my hair follicles to be infected! Kinda funny though.

Cause: Excessive sweating.

Hmm guess I od-ed on the bukit timah visits last week.

Symptoms: Non-itchy nor painful spots around the tummy area that are red in colour

I got scared when the spots multiplied instead of reducing themselves

So a trip to the docs this morning got me some antibiotic cream to apply on the spots.

Hope they go away soon!

I cleared my shoes till they gave me a huge headache. The last time I gave the shoe cupboard a good clean out was probably EONS back. Because I don't remember accumulating so many pairs of shoes!! It got a little scary after a short while. But upon clearing out the really old and cannot make it ones, I am proud to present my final set of prized possessions! Hurhurhur yea I am quite a shoe freak. I can't resist pretty shoes! Hmmm I have to say I'm quite guilty about having bought too many pairs for this year's cny. I ended up leaving one pair aside till today. Shall leave them for next year's cny then haha! The colour and style is just right! : ) : )

I wish I had a nice cupboard where my shoes could be displayed properly though. Now I've gotta stuff them all into a small part of the cupboard and this makes it rather inaccessible to get to different shoes each time. It's so hard to see and a hassle to dig them out. Sigh! I think one of the most important things I'll want to have in my house next time... would be a fantastic looking shoe area.

I'm going to centrepoint to write my wishes on the wishing sphere tmr. If you're free or happen to be around that area, do drop by and write your wishes for christmas and the new year too! It's in front of Marks and Spencer, Centrepoint. Lunch with mimi and germie tmr too : ) Looking forward to catching up with these 2 babes.

Tuition tonight. I'm outta here.

I've got corrine may's 'The Gift' plugged on now and it sounds sooo good. Her voice seems to have gotten a little deeper, but still soothing nonetheless. : ))

*heart heart heart* to Jason who was a dear and promptly purchased the album upon knowing that I wanted it. A very early christmas gift, but very thoughtful indeed. Thanks : )

Hark the Herald Angels Sing!! Christmas is fast approaching!! : ) My favourite season of the year. Let us all embrace it in all its full glory!

Once again, I woke up groggy to the guilt of having slept past what my dad deems as "not lazy" timing. I guess that's the down part of having a stay-home dad. I can't sleep till I'm all achy from having lay in bed too much!

But it was all good. I finished running all the necessary errands for today and met up with Anne and Grace for lunch at Nanbantei (Far East Plaza). Heart the lunch obento sets loads. : ) And the company was great! Christmas dinner plans on the way!

Another good thing that happened today, I finally, FINALLY got a replacement for my dying and almost gross liquid foundation. From the cheapo loreal sheer cashmere one I upgraded to an atas lancome liquid foundation! The finishing is really, a world of a difference. : ) : ) : )

One more thing that I finally FINALLY got down to doing, was to get a fresh supply of contact lenses. Been feeling rather guilty for stuffing the expired ones into my eyes for the past 4 days.

So I would say, today was a day of doing things... finally, FINALLY.

Jason's finally done with his semester too. *hiphiphooray*

Life's rather simple, if and only if we choose not to think too much. Right?

Bed.

Hey babe!! (Sarah's favourite phrase), Purple please!! (Sarah's favourite color), 23! (Sarah's waist size).

Those abovementioned three facts were picked up from Sarah's 21st bday party earlier this evening. Her cousins planned some fun and quirky games while I had a catch-up session with Stace and Zairina. The function room was decorated so Sarah-ish. And it was all done by her loving father. : )

Sarah, you are one truly blessed girl.

The speech given by Sarah's godfather was so heartwarming and it touched one right straight in the heart. I could feel the beam from her family shining right through, and they were so proud of their little Sarah baby who is now an adult. I guess Stace and I felt the same too. We were proud of the Sarah we know and we were happy for her because she had such a loving family. The 3 of us share a special friendship. Due to the different paths that we have chosen, time taken off that can acocmodate all three schedules are often rare. But when we meet it's as if we just left off from yesterday and I hope we'll always always always stay this way babes.. all the way till we're old. : )

But that's in the far future. Haha.

Meanwhile, Happy 21st Sarah dear : ))

Tired me, out.
